Crown Tourney: Menu
This is a preliminary menu is as of October 14, 2008. As is always the case, it is subject to change if the circumstances so require.
Dietary restrictions?
If you have told us about any dietary restrictions (vegetarian diet, lactose intolerance, allergies etc.), the following is very important information to you:
- The dishes containing milk products are made with low-lactose milk products except when otherwise indicated.
- If you have allergies, please introduce yourself in the kitchen to discuss what dishes you need to avoid and what alternative dishes there are for you.
- Most of the vegetarian food - for those who just don't eat meat - will be served to your table at the feast. For lunch the vegetarian food will be available with the rest of the lunch. Those who follow a stricter vegetarian regime should discuss their meals with the kitchen.
Friday
An Evening snack is served 20:00-22:00.
Saturday
Breakfast is served 8:00-9:30. Expect to get coffee and tea, porridge, white bread, dark (=rye) bread and toppings for the bread.
Lunch 13:30-14:30
- Meat stew; allergy notice: contains onions and wheat
- Non-meat alternative: Fish in Ale; dietary notice: this this is gluten-free
- Rice
- Salad; allergy notice: contains leek, vinegar and parsley
- Baked root vegetables; allergy notice: contains carrots and onions
Afternoon snack 16:30
A small afternoon snack is served to tide you over to the feast: bread, butter, cheese, fruits, juice, tea and coffee
Feast 19:00-
Note. This is the menu for the grand feast. Little feast has a somewhat different and more limited menu.
Starters
- Meat jelly
- Liver pate
- Olives
- Smoked fish
- Pickled cucumbers
- Marinated mushrooms
- Bread
- Honey butter
First course
- Poultry pie (allergy notice: contains eggs, low-lactose milk products)
- Vegetarian alternative: Pea puree cooked in almond milk, cheese tart (allergy notice: pea puree contains almond)
- Sausages (commercial make)
- Oven-baked cabbage (allergy notice: contains honey)
- Pears in wine syrup
Second course
- Smoked lamb with onions
- Spiced sauce for the lamb (allergy notice: sauce contains vinegar)
- Vegetarian alternative: Stuffed turnips, baked onions
- Frumenty (dietary notice: contains spelt, lactose-free milk)
- Fried onions
Desserts
- Small cakes, cookies, fruit, cheese
- Rose cream (dietary notice: lactose free)
- Strawberry pudding (allergy notice: contains almond)
Sunday
Breakfast is served 8:30-9:30. Expect to get the same as on Saturday, i.e. coffee and tea, porridge, white bread, dark (=rye) bread and toppings for the bread. Possible feast leftovers are served as well.
Note. If you feel like breakfast on Sunday, get up on time. Once kitchen cleaning starts, breakfast may no longer be available. Remember also the prize tourney that starts at 10:00.
