Shops

The nearest grocery stores and the nearest ATM are found in Rajamäki, 5 km from the site. S-Market is bigger, it is open 7:00-21:00 Mon-Fri and 7:00-18:00 on Saturdays. Valintatalo is a lot smaller, but it is open also on Sundays 12:00-21:00.

If you want anything stronger than 4.7% alcohol, you need to go to the alcohol monopol store Alko. Nearest Alko is in Nurmijärvi, 13 km from the site. This Alko is open 9-20 Monday to Friday and 9-18 on Saturday. You can do your shopping at the same time, the Alko in Nurmijärvi is next to a big grocery store.
Note. While grocery stores and gas stations sell milder alcoholic drinks (beer, cider etc.), they may only do so 9-21. So even if you find a late night store, you won't be able to buy any alcohol after 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. the following morning!

Accommodation

Important note: we can only provide for transportation between the designated pickup/dropoff spots (Helsinki airport, nearest bus stop, nearest railway station) and the site and only Friday evening and Sunday morning. If you decide to stay off-site, you will have to arrange (and pay) for your own transportation; airport taxi and taxis to and from the site can be arranged, but rental car is probably cheaper for two or more persons.

Note on the contact info given: phone numbers on the homepages are mostly given in domestic format. Remove the leading zero and add the country code 358 in front to make the numbers work from abroad. The Finnish word for 'telephone' is "Puhelin", so to make for example "Puhelin 010 387 xxxx" work from outside of Finland, you have to turn the number into +358 10 387 xxxx".

Close by

There are no hotels near the site, but hostel and B&B style accommodation is available nearby. Not quite within walking distance (it takes 15 minutes just to walk from the site to the main road, but max. 15 minutes' drive from the site.)

Lomakoti Kotoranta
A small private hotel/boarding house on the same lake than our site. Eleven double rooms, 4 single rooms and one larger family room/appartment. Also a separate seven-person "cottage". All rooms with shower and toilet and are suitable for mobility handicapped persons. The separate building (rented as a whole) has 3 double rooms and one single room and shared shower and toilet plus kitchen and lounge.
Prices: Double room eur 38 per person per night (=eur 76 per room), additional bed for adult eur 25, kid's bed cheaper, cots for babies available; max. 2 extra beds allowed per room. Single accommodation eur 44/night. The cabin eur 255/night. There's no info on what the price includes, but probably at least the bedding.
Location: Kotorannantie 74, 05250 Kiljava. About 5 km from the event site (get onto the paved road and turn right, drive for 3.2 km and turn right onto Kotorannantie, continue until at the hotel).

Kokoushotelli Kiljavanranta
A meeting and training hotel in connection with a private college, accommodation available also to private customers. One-person and two-person rooms, both hotel rooms and dorm rooms (lower level of service) available, also three 2-person suites; hotel rooms renovated 2007. All rooms with tv, toilet and shower, price includes bedlinen, breakfast, sauna in the evening and use of swimming pool evening and morning.
Prices: No idea, the website doesn't say anything about them!
Location: Kotorannantie 49, 05250 Kiljava. About 5 km from the event site (get onto the paved road and turn right, drive for 3.2 km and turn right onto Kotorannantie, following the signs for 'Kiljavan opisto'); next to Lomakoti Kotoranta listed above.

Vuonotalli Solsikke
This place is in reality horse stables concentrating on Norwegian fjord horses, but they rent out one unit of a terraced house (probably built for their staff or guests; note that the photo on the homepage shows a storage and three units, i.e. the whole building). There's double room and an additional single bed in a separate room and it seems to have plenty of space for additional mattresses, so the apartment probably sleeps up to 6 people. The building has two floors and some stairs to get in, so it is not handicap accessible. As this is near a working stable and probably often houses people who visit the stables, people allergic to horses and other animals should probably avoid this place!
Prices: 2 persons eur 60 per night, single bed upstairs eur 40/night, extra beds/mattresses eur 15/night/person. Bedlinen not included, rent for bedlinen is eur 7 per person per stay, if you do not want to bring your own. Using the sauna costs extra.
Location: Maatilantie 27, 05250 Kiljava. About 5 km from site, close to Kotoranta, but on opposite side of the main road (i.e. not on the lake).

Funny fact: Fancy a horse ride in the Finnish forest or just a tour to the stables and getting to know this type of horse? Can be done, just contact them in advance to arrange for it.
Hyvinvointikeskus Haukilampi Oy
A holiday centre offering various types of services and activities for groups and individuals, on the same lake than our site. In summer also cabins, but in October accommodation in the main building only. Simple two- and three-person rooms, facilities assumably in the corridor (web page doesn't say), no accessibility information.
Prices3-person room eur 75/night (eur 25/person), 2-person room eur 58/night (eur 29/person), single room eur 39/night. Four-person apartment eur 120 per night (eur 30 per person). Mattress/extra bed eur 18/person. Prices include bedding and towel, but no breakfast.
Location: Haukilammentie, 05250 Kiljava. Less than 6 km from the event site, slightly further out than the three previous places (get back onto the paved road and turn right, drive for 4 km and turn right onto Haukilammentie, continue until at the holiday centre).

Agrocenter Oy/Ketolan tila
This is an ostrich (!) farm that has converted the upper level of an old cottage into accommodation. It has two rooms, a six-person room and a three-person room and the rooms share the facilities found downstairs; this is definitely not a handicap accessible accommodation (and thus probably not great with small kids, either).
Prices: eur 25 per person per night, includes bedding and towels. Breakfast can be bought separately for eur 5 per person. Family package for two adults and two kids eur 85 per night. If you want to rent the whole thing, ask for a quote.
Location: Korvenojantie 17, 05200 Rajamäki. About 8 km from the event site, fairly straight-forward to drive and the farm attracts enough tourists to be properly signposted.

Hotel availability (further out)

There are two "real" hotels in Hyvinkää, about 22 km from the event site, 45 km from Helsinki-Vantaa airport:

Cumulus Hyvinkää
Traditional smallish hotel, Rica business card is recognized here, otherwise only Finnish residents can joint loyalty programs. Accessibility information not available, being an older building the hotel may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.
Prices: Weekend rate for standard room (2 persons) is eur 90 - as is normal in Finnish hotels, breakfast buffet (and sauna) is included in this price. Rack rate for the same room is eur 144 per night, but weekend rate applies Fri-Sun. Extra bed/mattress may be arrangable in some rooms, you'll have to ask the hotel.
Location: Hämeenkatu 2-4, 05800 Hyvinkää. In Hyvinkää town, roughly 22 km from event site. Hotel is centrally located in the town, so driving requires quite a bit of navigation. Parking may also be slightly problematic. This hotel is almost next to a railway station, so if you commute to site by taxi, rental car may not be needed; connection to Helsinki-Vantaa is reasonable, with bus to railroad and local train to Hyvinkää, both running frequently.

Rantasipi Sveitsi, Hyvinkää
This hotel is located slightly off the center of Hyvinkää, next to a smallish downhill skiing area and park. This is a big "resort" type hotel with full facilities, it is also newly renovated and thus handicap facilities should be good.
Prices: As with Cumulus, standard room for two at weekend rate eur 90, rack rate eur 150. It is possible they allow for extra bed, some of the two-person rooms are extra large.
Location: Härkävehmaankatu 4, 05900 Hyvinkää. Just before the center of Hyvinkää, 21 km from event site. Some navigation needed to get there, but parking should be plentiful and probably free.

If you are looking for a hotel belonging to an international chain (i.e. to earn or spend points), the airport hotels are closest to the event site: Scandic, Hilton, Holiday Inn all have hotels at the airport (the Scandic is tiny and mostly fully booked). However, this means they are 40 minutes away from the event site and airport hotels are not included in our dropoff/pickup service.
The hotels in central Helsinki are 60 minutes away (add more time for Helsinki West and Espoo) from the site, the same chains are available there. Expect a double room at an airport hotel to cost about eur 100 for room per night, if you don't happen to hit a special deal.

Health care

Nearest pharmacy is in Rajamäki, just 5 km from the site. Rajamäen apteekki at Urttilantie 1 is open 8:30-19:00 on weekdays, 8:30-15:00 on Saturdays and 12:00-16:00 on Sundays.

Nearest accident and emergency department is at Hyvinkää hospital, Sairaalankatu 1, Hyvinkää, 17 km from event site. It is our emergency ward throughout the event as the local health centers close by 2 p.m. on Friday.
